Honestly more of a 3.5... but bumping it up to a 4 since I had a good experience here. Disclaimer: I came here with a Groupon... but no shame! Felt lazy one Thursday night and decided to take advantage of the Groupon they offered.

    LOGISTICS

This plates operate similar to a Kickin' Crab and Boiling Crab - you can get seafood buckets where a bunch of seafood is cooked together with a type of sauce. They give you the tools to eat them, and you pretty much devour the shellfish at your table and toss the shells in a bucket. It's a very hands on experience that's quite fun and great for people like me who seem to find amusement in "shelling" things.

Of course they have entrees and other items you can order off the menu, but why would you do that when the idea is to experience the joy of shelling seafood by hand? Personally I wouldn't recommend this for a first date, but it was a fun date night when the BF and I were looking for something to do on weekday.

    LOCATION

Large place with a lot of fisherman/nautical decor, which I thought was cute. There's a great white shark on the ceiling, along with other seafood decor. Made it pretty lively, though it was fairly quiet on a Thursday night. With lots of seating, it would be a great place for groups!

This was a great place to watch a Warriors game on the weeknight... plenty of televisions around showing the game. We don't have cable, so this was a bonus for us. Parking is easy since it's part of a plaza with its own lot - we had no problems.

    FOOD

The boyfriend and I had a Groupon for a  4 lb seafood bucket that came with mussels, snow crab, shrimp, clams, sausage, and corn & potatoes. This also came with 3 drinks of our choice (max $10 per drink), so we had a 1 glass of wine and 2 beers between the two of us. Supposedly the 4 lb bucket can feed 3 people... but we felt it was just right for the 2 of us. Or we were really hungry that day. For those unfamiliar with these type of seafood places, 4 lbs might sound like a lot, but that includes the weight of the shells as well.

When you order the buckets, you have to pick a flavor to go with it... we went with the Sharky's medium. It's a good savory flavor - a little peppery but the kick was non-existent. Makes me wonder if the Sharky's "hot" level would be any spicy. Either way it did got well with the shellfish, sausage, corn, and potatoes - they pretty much drown the whole thing in the sauce so it can get overpowering at times.

Shellfish was prepared well - not grittiness or food poisoning I can report afterwards, which was a good sign. It was easy enough to shell everything and the Sharky sauce really got into the seafood. I liked how soft the potatoes were and the sausage was pretty good, though not a top priority for me to eat with everything.

We also ordered a side of fries, which was a great idea since it went well with the Sharky sauce. The crispiness was a good contrast/break from our shellfish. Plus it wasn't drowning in Sharky sauce like our boiled potatoes.

    VALUE

Again, because we came with the Groupon the value was pretty good - it cost us $65 for the 4 lb bucket with 3 drinks. Fries were extra, but it was a large portion and perfect for 2 people who were very hungry. Regular price it may seem expensive, but it's comparable to Kickin' Crab or Boiling Crab. That's just the nature of these seafood places.

    OVERALL

The boyfriend and I enjoyed our experience of eating shellfish on the table while watching the Warriors win. I'd come back (probably with another Groupon if allowed), but otherwise a nice alternative for the area if you don't want to drive all the way out to Kickin' Crab or Boiling Crab.

    Update**
Been a week still no call from the owner or anyone
A week or more ago I ordered clams and oysters. they decided to pack in same bag for some reason and I ended up with ice in my cold oysters. Missing crab, called to let them know the problem only to get offended by a millennial manager telling me I should starve. She said her boss would call me.....nothing from the boss. Lost a customer blue water

    Very disappointed meal tonight..
Ordered grilled salmon ... Very over cooked ( dry)
Angel hair pasta with scampi sauce  .. Awful
Pasta overcooked and no real flavor.. Husband sprinkled old bay seasoning on it to give it flavor ...
All in all the meals were not good ..
Service was ok and manager was nice but food is awful.. Last visit here

The chicken Caesar was overpriced for what we got, and the chicken was only so-so.
The lobster bisque has been better in earlier visits.
I prefer my hush puppies golden, not mahogany, brown.

Beers in abundance, mostly craft and draft, but wines offered are only five, with two sakes, which I think odd with the menu. They have spirits, but I didn't check them out.

When serving iced tea for which the customer requested sweetener, wouldn't that indicate a spoon, stirrer stick, or straw be automatically called for?

The lemon cake is really tasty. Most of the veggie offerings are tempura or fried, tasty, but not for the GF crowd.

I've had a quiet lunch there, but dinners during sportball seasons (most, if not all of the year, with no figure skating) are not good for those with migraines. It was loud enough that I had to get within 6" of the waitress's mouth to hear her, and I have really good hearing.

I note that every sports screen has supertitles. The children's movie screens have neither sound nor sub/supertitles at any time of the day.

I don't think I'll be back, unless to pick up slices of lemon cake. This was the fifth or sixth visit since it opened, and I've been hopeful but disappointed more each time.

I had this place for the first time and it was good!
We ordered crab fries which aren that great, tempura asparagus which was  , seafood po boy which was also good!!! And 3lb bucket which could've been seasoned a little better.  All in all for this being our first time here it was good.
